Ai Wei WeiSunflower seeds.

I think that AI Wei Wei's use of sunflowers resemble people. A sunflower contains hundreds of seeds which I feel he has used the sunflower as a metaphor for towns, cities, countries and cultures. The sunflower could represent equality and how the foundations of people are all the same. I also feel that seeds are a good metaphor for how one single one is fairly insignificant but combined with lots of seeds they are more powerful. I feel that this represents the collaboration of all the hundreds of people who made it. The seed when planted may grow into a tree, they have the potential to grow large.
Tis work was exhibited at the tate modern with is a vase area to exhibited because of the space.
