3D Art and Design. final out comes.

These studies are focused on creating a simplified interpretation of a zip from a jacket. I looked at ways of portraying shade and curves in as few lines or marks. I struggled to get the proportions and the zip correct and the curves in the shape accurate. I like the variation in line weight because the drawings contrast each other and reflect the light in different ways.

From my studies of the zip i created some paper shape which I felt could represent the zip. As a starting point I looked at the shapes within the zip shape. I found that the curves of the sides were a good starting point to creating shapes inspired by the zip. I also wanted to used the shapes from the hole in the tag.
I then adapted the paper shapes so that they related to Natalies Gear cog. I translated the tear shape from my previous designs into our collabrated piece. They also needed to be easy to laser cut.
